I've gone a couple of days without updating the site, the fanfic, or anything, because I got hacked big time—both important online accounts and my bank card—and they stole money I don't even have. I've spent days doing unemployment paperwork, and now on top of that dealing with all the hassle of protecting my accounts, requesting the money back, and requesting a new card. The funny (not) thing is that the bank stuff has already happened to me like three times in one year—I've honestly lost count of how many cards I've had by now :_)

Yesterday I finally finished a book after two months. It's the first book I've read "of my own accord," so to speak (without a book club involved—I joined one to get back into the habit of reading because I've always loved reading, but since it's kind of an "obligation," apparently my little ADHD brain doesn't register it that way). I hope I can keep the streak going because I love reading, and as a writer I should read more. Related to this, I've discovered the term "intrusive sleep." I looked it up, and pretty much everything I find is directly related to ADHD. Apparently, a lot of ADHD brains just "shut down" when a task isn't stimulating enough. Ergo, my brain literally passes out when it gets bored. Which explains why, whenever I've gone a while without reading and then try to get back into it, I fall asleep! (And it's so frustrating.)

Today my doctor signed me off my sick leave for depression, which means I'm now left without any kind of financial support: I have no money, no savings, and no income whatsoever.
When I got home, I started picking up all the boxes I had lying around, plus the ones from the bookshelf I put together yesterday. I also started tidying up my bedroom and donated clothes I didn't need.
I didn't feel like doing any of it (I haven't really felt like doing anything for months, which is why my house was full of empty boxes and clothes lying all over the floor), but I decided to take advantage of the momentum—I really believe in the power of momentum. And although I ended up exhausted, and I probably did it partly to avoid thinking about what had happened earlier, I have to admit that decluttering and having a cleaner, more organised space really does something to your brain.

Today I put together a new bookshelf so I could keep my books close at hand. I didn't expect figuring out how to arrange the books to give me anxiety. ADHD is a thing. Luckily, my girlfriend helped me. Trufa approves of the bookshelf.

Just reached perfection in Stardew Valley and got the special cutscene. Maybe I'm just being extra emotional, but I almost cried. I'll keep stopping by my farm every now and then, but I'm really going to miss this game and its characters. Especially Abby 🥹

Sometimes I get these bursts. These moments when a day is just a calm day, or something goes well, and I feel like everything will be okay, like I'm okay. But then a day comes when something happens (or a lot of things happen) and essentially reminds me that, no, things are not okay, things are not going to be okay, and I'm a fool for even thinking I was okay when, for a moment, I just forgot that my life sucks.

I get the feeling that a lot is said about depression, but not enough about how awful it feels to make everyone around you miserable because of your bitterness. I wonder if that's one of the many reasons we end up coming to the conclusion that the world would be better off without us.

Today there was a total eclipse, and it could be seen from Spain. Saw it with my girlfriend and her family. We had to drive a little way to see it, but it was a truly unique experience.
